This morning, we rise and travel to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku to watch the first rays of sunlight in the desert while enjoying a warm cup of coffee or tea. Then we go to see the 36 mystical domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way, enjoy panoramic views of the south at a dune viewing platform before arriving at Walpa Gorge. Spend some time exploring the Gorge and the unusual conglomerate rock formations. The 1.3km walking trail follows the natural creek between two of the tallest domes. An explorer’s light breakfast pack is provided on the tour. We return to the hotel at approximately 10.30 am.
Upon arrival you can participate in optional complimentary activities such as boomerang throwing, bush tucker walks, cultural performances, didgeridoo playing (men only), or art markets. Or just simply enjoy the pool, or take a disco nap.
Optional helicopter tour of Uluru.
This evening, you’ll take part in an experience very few people on the planet have witnessed. Pick up time is one hour before sunset.
Sound of Silence, an evening of dining under the outback sky. Your Sounds of Silence experience begins with canapes and chilled sparkling wine served on a viewing platform overlooking the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. As the sun sets and darkness falls, listen to the sound of a didgeridoo as the night sky twinkles to life, help yourself to a bush tucker-inspired buffet that incorporates native bush ingredients. Settle back and listen to our resident star talker decode the southern night sky. The Southern Cross, the signs of the zodiac, the Milky Way, as well as planets and galaxies, will become visible due to the exceptional clarity of the atmosphere.
